Applied Data Systems’ Applications Featured at Microsoft MEDC Events Worldwide
Columbia, MD June 30, 2005 – Applied Data Systems (ADS), a Microsoft WEP Gold level partner and a global leader of application-ready RISC-based systems, will feature two customer applications touring with Microsoft Mobile Embedded DevCon (MEDC 2005) events in Korea, Germany and other countries.
The first customer application is the Microvision (Nasdaq: MVIS) Nomad® Expert Technician System, the world’s only wireless wearable computer with a head-worn, head-up display. The Nomad was highlighted during an interview with Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates during the Global Automotive Summit in Detroit in April. With its unique “connect and work” capability, the Nomad System technicians to superimpose text and diagrams from electronic service manuals directly over their workspace at the point of task, hands free.
The second featured customer is Zoe Medical, with devices designed both for home health and for monitoring at nursing stations in hospitals – – the well@home® monitor and the Nightingale Personal Patient Monitor 2 (PPM2). The innovative Zoe systems are non-invasive patient monitors that gather a patient’s vital signs data including blood pressure, heart rate, EKG, respiration rate, blood oxygen saturation and temperature. The PPM2, one of the first Windows CE-based patient monitors, is networked directly with a nurse’s central monitoring station as part of Zoe Medical’s Nightingale Monitoring System.
ADS engineers worked with both customers’ engineering teams to develop these breakthrough embedded systems. Both products demonstrate the versatility and ubiquitous use of innovative embedded devices.
