EmpowerMX Appoints Aviation MRO Industry Veteran, Phil Bathurst, as Chief Commercial Officer

FRISCO, TEXAS – JANUARY 19, 2021 – EmpowerMX announced today that aviation MRO industry veteran, Phil Bathurst, has joined the company as Chief Commercial Officer. “Having deployed and served as a flagship customer of EmpowerMX for the last decade, Phil has a unique, firsthand understanding of how MROs, OEMs, and airlines can best leverage our cloud-based solutions to more efficiently and profitably plan, execute, optimize, and digitize their maintenance and overhaul functions,” said Dinakara Nagalla, CEO of EmpowerMX. “We are delighted to bring him back to EmpowerMX at this crucial time of expansion in our company and as the aviation industry continues its transformation, in response to the pandemic.”

Bathurst has over 30 years of experience in the aviation MRO industry. He joins EmpowerMX from Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Services (EAMS), where he served as Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer and held full operational and fiscal responsibilities for Embraer’s Commercial Aviation MRO operations. Under Bathurst’s leadership, EAMS doubled in size, leveraged a successful deployment of EmpowerMX’s software to drive significant profitability, efficiencies, and ROI, and became a best-in-class MRO for both airframe and components.

Prior to joining EAMS, he served as EmpowerMX’s EVP of Sales and Marketing, and spent nearly 20 years in VP and Director of Operations positions at major MROs including TIMCO/HAECO, Aviation Technical Services, and Associated Air Center. His mandates and roles have always focused on change management, team building, analytics, maintenance execution process improvements, and KPI enhancements for MROs and Airlines. Bathurst has also served as an industry consultant, supporting major international consulting firms as a subject matter expert for MROs and Airlines for maintenance execution.
